Back home...

When returning from an Agora, one may think of the Chinese proverb that a Journey is not measured in miles, but in the friends you make

The daily routine seems different now, like it lacks the emotion and the energy of the days of the Agora! We are still there and yet here we are, trying to continue the wonderful times spent together by emails, updated albums on Facebook, thus reliving the special memories!

Thank you, AEGEE Kyiv and all the participants!
See you in spring, in Leiden!

First working day @ Agora Kyiv

The first plenary definitely started with a lot of energy, antennaes searching for exciting ways to make their presence known!

Agata Patecka, President of AEGEE Europe welcomed us with a motivating speech and afterwards the statutes of principles were presented.

After the ratification of the agenda, to which the presentation of former CD Activity Reports and the presentations of Liaison Officers were added, the former CD presented its Activity Report. A long question line of Agora participants queued up, and the hot topics were related to Intranet and funds.

The new CD were on stage afterwards to present their knowledge transfer period and activity plan, 2010 seems to be a full and exciting year!

The new Liaison Officers were announced and we would like to congratulate:

1. LO towards the UN: Sonja Schindelbeck, AEGEE Freiburg
2. LO towards the European Youth Forum: Ildikó Ferencsik, AEGEE Budapest
3. LO towards OECD: Claire Berthier, AEGEE Lyon
4. LO towards the OSCE: Anatoli Tsakalidou, AEGEE Thessaloniki
5. LO towards UNESCO: Basak Uslu, AEGEE Izmir
6. LO towards the World Bank: Fotis Kanavos, AEGEE Athina

AEGEE Fair, a new form of AEGEE Cafe, more dynamic and interactive stopped participants on the way to lunch to check for posibilities to get involved at the European level.

The day continued with Activity Reports session, for the first time splitted in two rooms. Prytannia Session no.1, with interesteing themes like Budget nodified proposal and Depreciation Proposal, Age Limit Proposal, WG Criteria Proposal definitely rose some memorable debates!

Workshops on Causing a Scene in AEGEE and how to Speak Up! followed and the working day ended with Progress Meetings on Logo of AEGEE Europe, CIA reform, Intranet user for SUCT and Interim Financial report 2009 and Budget Update 2009.
After such a long, full day, the organizers created the perfect balance with a crazy, shiny 70's party in a glamorous club in Kiev!

Anxiously waiting for the next working days and partying nights of the Agora!

The moment...

...you arrive at the Agora, you feel like you are taking part at a family reunion! In the chaos created near the registration desk, AEGEE members meet old friends, share smiles and hugs.

The gyms are filled with sleeping bags, luggage, the moment you enter them, it seems that it's one big mess. And maybe it is, but how many people can say they've shared a room with 200 other people? :)

On the first day, probably the only one when you have time for city tours, you discover Kiev, a beautiful city, where the old and the new meet each other at every step.

Congratulations to AEGEE Kyiv for the wonderful opening ceremony and for all of their efforts! First day finished in 1930's Chicago bang!

Enjoy your Agora!

The road to Agora…

… starts with an application and it continues with a lot of excitement. AEGEE Agora is one of the most important events for our organisation, delegations from all over Europe reunite to decide on the future of our Youth NGO. It’s a short period, governed by the slogan Work all day, party all night, when the most important decisions are taken and the most unforgettable parties are thrown:)

Autumn Agora Kyiv 2009 announces itself to be a special event, bringing Power for change. Change is familiar to AEGEE, it happens everyday and yet something always manages to stay the same: our great volunteer spirit which touches every single one of our members!

Whether a participant or a member interested in finding out what’s going on, you should definitely check out our blog for latest info, on which we will try to capture the most exciting moments of the Agora!

See you in Kyiv!
