Extraordinary Agora

As it has been pointed out a couple of time this Agora is to be a special one. Twenty-five years ago AEGEE was founded and that will be celebrated by all the participants. Especially tonight when we'll have the lustrum party. Another memorable moment was the speech of the founder of AEGEE-Leiden during the opening ceremony. She spoke about the way EGEE was founded 25 years ago, and how proud she was now, that AEGEE still exists and nothing has changed: We still believe in the same One Europe and we still try to achieve it in the same way: congresses, meetings, general assemblies and lots of parties.

Even though this Agora is supposed to be a very happy one, I would also like to pay some attention to the tragedy that happened last Saturday near Smolensku. Unfortunately there has been paid no attention to this Polish tragedy that made the whole of Poland mourn for one week. To show their compassion some of our Polish friends here at the Agora do not attend the parties. Hopefully some time will be spent on this issue as it is not only a Polish matter but concerns the whole of Europe.
