AR has not been accepted!

A few minutes ago, the Voting results of the Plenary before lunch were announced. The Activity Report of the CD was not approved.
The Financial Report was approved
all proposals have been accepted.
Percentages will follow right after the plenary. (Sorry the presentation of the voting results were too quick :-(
It will be curious how the CD will now react on this decision. On last Agoras, when the Activity Report was not accepted, the CD resigned... It will be interesting!

They will not resign. You're right, Dragan wants to finish his projects started, but he wants to improve his way of communicating and the cooperation with the network.

Hahahaha, yeah, he wants to improve. Sure. He only wants to continue the shit he started several months ago, and want Agora to believe he will change.

I would say: if CD does not go by themselves, help them a bit, give them vote of confidence. There is no trust anymore!

just think twice, guys, before voting of no confidence .. as, believe me, it'll be much harder to fix things afterwards. It is too easy to see mistakes done by others, is less easy to be president of an international organization and, as far as I know, Dragan, he has always tried to do all the best for AEGEE .. btw. enjoy Cyprus!

Madara, you are totally right that it should be a well-considered decision.

Fact is that especially Dragan has made lot of promises, but hardly ever kept them. ITWG was several times promised they would be involved in intranet, well, I think it is pretty clear they were all empty promises that were only used by Dragan to get support of the network for his ideas, and ITWG was stupid enough to help him with this.

Lot of requests during the pasts months have been made towards the CD for openness, all were rejected/ignored. Now it is Agora time, and there is a negative atmosphere around CD work, including communication. AR has been rejected, but they want to continue the work that is also disliked (look again at intranet). All they need is to prevent Agora from kicking them home, so, they make some promises to the Agora to keep people happy. If they survive Agora, they can again do whatever they like, as there is no way for the network to have any control, as there will not be any other Agora before they leave end of August.

Dragan, as president of AEGEE-Europe, should be aware of CIA. Several times he broke it (check AEGEE-L, 1st of April mail of Mickey), which can only be said to be on purpose, he is smart enough to understand CIA. Signing contracts of EUR 30.000 while Agora only approved a budget of EUR 13.000 is totally against the democracy AEGEE is. If we now consider this as 'tried to do the best for AEGEE', who knows what next CDs will do, as it will be obvious that Agora is too weak to take measurements against violations of CIA by CD.

By having a vote of confidence, we clear the way for further investigating of mistakes and violations of the CIA, and make clear to future CDs that violation of the CIA will be punished. If we keep them were they are, it will not look plausible.

Maybe it will not be easy to fix things now for new people, but imagine that the promise that is now made is again fake, it will mean that in September, when new CD takes over, the mess will be even bigger. Do we really want that?

Think twice!

That's a clap! Hope it make them thinkin', at least some of them. I would like to see some improvements afterwards, and i hope this result has its impact. However, working together with one member of the CD proofed already in the past months to be difficult, thus not much hope for the future. It is a matter of attitude and the current CD already did not understand for the past months that they have to work WITH the network and not AGAINST it. Most of the sticky stories are not public, still they exist. As they existed with every CD, however, with this one, the amount of these stories is soo much higher!

yep., communication in IT field and all the management of project was definitely far not the best, meanwhile organization is a bit more than a single IT project, even being 30 000 EUR. I still see more constructive solution in leaving CD to work till the next takes over in September, Dragan, however, should not be the main responsible for the new IT system, as too many personal factors play role for him there.. but, again, handing over one project does not require resignation of the highest executive body. About CIA violation, I'm not competent enough, Dragon is his second term in CD though and AGORA would not elect him president, if he did not respect CIA, I guess.

Btw. any updates .. ? agoralive is dead today...

Madara, you should read the mail of Micky send to AGORA-L on 1st of April. There are some clear violations, while it seems Dragan does not have any defense (if I would be accused falsely I would for sure defend myself).

Fact was that these violations were made while he was already elected president, some in the period when he was president-elect, and some (for example intranet) while he was president. I doubt if anything was said about it at Agora by either JC or Audit, as they are the bodies that should have taken action in these cases.

Especially the EUR 17.000 should be returned to AEGEE in some way or another, as Dragan has not the right to spend more money than Agora approves. If he can, then let's cancel whole Agora, it does not make sense if the president is the highest body in our association. It would make AEGEE kind like dictatorship, and then there is no need for parliament meetings (=Agora).

yes, yes, I read Micky's e-mail. What Alexianne wrote on 11th April also makes much sense. Far too many issues with this IT stuff and about the internal communication in organization; leaders always have to be not only good in implementing their visions (what they truly believe to be the best), but also listeners for feedback from organization they represent. No question about it. Question is about being student organization and learning and about if vote or no confidence strategically helps AEGEE, what I doubt. Anyway my comments really are just general ideas, as I do not know much of backstage stuff. I'm just much against seeing no confidence issues the first to discuss when things go wrong; to my mind they have to be the very last and have to be taken much more seriously. Anyway good luck with Agora!
